Privately commissioned by the International Arthurian Society, this plate is one of six in the series ' The King Arthur Plates'. These are lovely examples of Royal Worcester, with exquisite illustrations. This beautifully drawn plate depicts a scene where Merlin, sitting under a knarled apple tree, meete and is entranced by Viviane, a beautiful young woman, who tricks him into revealing all his knowledge and thereby seals his fate. Delicate gold border and heavy gold rim. Diameter: 9" (21.5 cms) Complete with original presentation box and leaflet.
